Steve is the Founder and President of Cosgrove Partners. For more than 35 years, Steve held senior executive positions, including President and CEO, for start-up and turnaround ventures. For the last 19 years, he has used the operating and consulting expertise gained in these ventures as a management advisor, helping over 100 companies grow in the areas of strategic planning, market planning, organizational effectiveness, channel strategy, exit planning, and leadership development.
Prior to founding Cosgrove Partners, Steve worked in both public and private companies, co-founding and operating supplyFORCE.com, a B2B e-commerce business, leading the turn-around and sale of $175M Thrall Distribution, overseeing customer development at W.W. Grainger, and developing and managing others. Steve serves the clients of Cosgrove Partners from a place of deep knowledge and respect for the unique challenges that they face.
Steve is a frequent speaker at industry events as well as company forums on topics including leadership, organizational effectiveness, management development, family business, and strategic planning. He is the author of more than a dozen articles on business topics and is a member of the Board of Directors for several private companies and non-profit organizations.
Steve and his wife, Cheryle, have been married for 35 years and have two adult children, Katie and Connor. He is very active in Christian humanitarian work in Indianapolis, Indiana; Tijuana, Mexico; and Johannesburg, South Africa. His work is focused on providing adequate low-cost housing and basic education for the hyper-poor.
Jim Piraino is a Partner at Cosgrove Partners who uses his 20+ years of industrial manufacturing and distribution management experience to serve CP clients. He provides leadership in strategic marketing, global sales growth, and operations in both private equity-backed and public companies to help clients meet goals and achieve sustainable results. Jim is highly skilled in developing customer relationships, global resources, talent, and organizations and has a strong track record of achieving profitable growth in US and international markets.
Prior to joining Cosgrove Partners, Jim held officer positions as Global Vice President and COO at Magnesita Refractories. Earlier in his career, he led two venture capital backed early-stage companies in addition to sales and marketing leadership positions at GE, W.W. Grainger, AlliedSignal, and Wesco Distribution. Jim is experienced in a variety of industrial, commercial, construction and service industries.
Jim is a graduate of Tufts University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Engineering Management. He lives in Philadelphia, PA with his wife, Karen. Jim has two adult children and enjoys spending his weekends in the 18th century cabin Karen and he renovated.
Darren Rawson is a Partner at Cosgrove Partners and an accomplished business leader with nearly three decades of experience leading businesses of all sizes to greater profitability and growth. Darren specializes in supporting CP clients in market entry, transition, mergers & acquisition, turnaround, divestiture, and restructuring. He works closely at the intersection of sales, business development, and operations.
Prior to joining Cosgrove Partners, Darren founded and managed Rawson Partners, a consulting firm supporting clients ranging from small family businesses to high tech start-ups and billion dollar domestic and international entities. Before his move into consulting, Darren served in leadership positions, including President and Vice President, to companies including Steren Electronics, transforming it from $6M YOY losses to profitability, HD Supply (former division of The Home Depot), executing a $450M MRO acquisition at 28% below budget, Nexiant, and W.W. Grainger. Darren uses his track record of success to help Cosgrove Partners clients identify opportunity and bring about profitable change.
Darren earned an MBA, with honors, from Lake Forest College and a bachelor’s in Economics from Hobart College. He has served as Member, President, and Vice President on CovalentWorks, WilsonCOS, and WilsonEurasia Boards of Directors respectively. Most recently, he served as a Board Member for Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Accessories Board.
Darren lives in La Jolla, CA. He has four children and enjoys offshore fishing, hiking, camping, and skiing.
Kyle Stellhorn is a Senior Consulting Manager whose 10+ year career has been defined by providing value to stakeholders with client-specific approaches to tackling their most complex problems, helping them stand out as industry leaders among their peers. Using his years of experience helping companies drive their transformational agenda, Kyle supports Cosgrove Partners clients in finance, IT, and post-merger-and-acquisition integrations.
Most recently, Kyle served as a financial consultant for Ernst & Young where he gained a deep understanding of the alliance between Finance, Sales, IT and Operations and the importance of this alliance to client success. Prior to Ernst & Young, Kyle worked as a Supply Chain consultant for IBM, delivering value for organizations experiencing divestitures and cost reduction programs. In his time at IBM and Ernst & Young, Kyle led large-scale projects, such as the enterprise cost management project for a $520B organization, and implemented leading practices and emerging technologies for over twenty clients. Kyle earned his Industrial Engineering degree from Purdue University and today resides in Indianapolis, IN with his wife, Gabby. Kyle remains involved with the philanthropic efforts of his fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta.
Katie Cosgrove is a Consultant for Cosgrove Partners. She is a multi-talented advisor who draws on her experience in people management and sales to drive employee engagement, culture, training & development, and sales & marketing strategies for CP clients.
Prior to joining Cosgrove Partners in 2017, Katie held sales and leadership positions at Outcome Health, a rapidly growing healthcare technology firm, where she was responsible for scaling the account management team from 8 to 35 employees with 0% turnover, leading new product rollouts, and providing leadership in the merger and acquisition of a key competitor. While there, Katie managed over 30 sales and account managers accounting for over $90M in revenue during her time and implemented extended learning programs for team members to adjust to the ever-changing healthcare and technology markets. Previously, Katie had been the top producing salesperson in her district at Grainger, earing 153% YOY sales growth serving the hospitality, manufacturing, and healthcare industries.
Katie is a proud graduate of Indiana University and lives in Indianapolis, Indiana. She passionately supports House of Hope, an orphanage, as well as Vida Plena, a nonprofit providing dignified work opportunities to women in the communities of El Hoyo and Monte Verde in the Dominican Republic.
