At Cosgrove Partners our data analysts are experts in acquisition, statistical analysis, review and visualization of data. We aggregate and interpret data to create a seamless story leading to better decision-making. This position participates in client deliverables, marketing, and research initiatives, supporting the client service and go to market strategy of the firm. The Senior Data Analyst position also contributes as a technical resource, helping to maintain databases, pipelines, and other data infrastructure.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Gathering data and conducting analyses in support of client deliverables, including, but not limited to, market analysis, competitive analyses, pricing analysis, and profit enhancement
- Developing tools, templates, and analytical models for the firm as needed to support consistency and quality across clients
- Collaborating with subject matter experts to develop and publish intellectual capital and thought leadership pieces
- Supporting marketing and business development through research on campaigns and prospects, mining data for thought leadership, and tracking and communicating market trends to internal staff
- Drafting detailed client reports and deliverables
- Participating in internal team and client calls
- Supporting firm quality standards through detailed fact-checking, quality control, and rigorous adherence
to methodological standards
Core Competencies
- Strong quantitative skills, including use and analysis of large data sets, and facility with sophisticated
mathematical and statistical concepts and models - Highly analytic and critical mindset demonstrated by asking second and third order questions developed
through exploratory data analysis - Detail oriented with high standards of quality
- Strong work ethic, propensity for curiosity and proven self-starter
- Due diligence, corporate governance, and/or investor relations experience (preferred, not required)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Technical Skills
- MS Office: Excel including VBA and PowerPoint
- Basic Statistics including linear and multi-variate regression
- SQL / Relational DB
- Data visualization such as Tableau/PowerBI (preferred, not required)
- Python / Machine Learning
Required Education and Work Experience - BS in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Business Analytics
- Previous work experience in data analytics role (5+ years)

You will work in a team focused, results-oriented environment to help our clients achieve higher levels of operational and financial performance. This position is in direct contact with clients to help them improve their efficiency and effectiveness by focusing on one or more specific areas, such as supply chain management, quality control, production planning, etc.
We are seeking an accomplished professional with 5-10 plus years of experience in one of the following industries: management consulting, manufacturing, or distribution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Determining the scope of operational improvement initiatives via consultation and evaluation
- Developing operational improvement strategies
- Recommending cost-effective solutions to operational challenges
- Restructuring departments and defining employee roles.
- Facilitating training initiatives and promoting best practices
- Overseeing the implementation of operational improvement strategies
- Performing cost calculations and coordinating budgets
- Collaborating across departments to set realistic operational targets and timeframes
- Documenting processes, monitoring progress, and preparing status reports
- Integrating new technologies and promoting adherence to industry standards
